What is a Dry Bag Used For?

Dry bags are typically used for keeping things dry that might be susceptible to damage from water or dampness, often kayaking, rafting or swimming. These items might include electronics, camera equipment, and food.  It can also act as a diaper bag for dirty diapers. Lightweight dry bags either provide insulation by staying dry inside, or they’re insulated by a pack.

Purchasing a dry bag can be a great investment and can be an excellent addition to your camping gear. They pack up small and light and can be handy for anything from kayaking to festivals and hurricanes, and it can also be handy to keep your gear dry on the way out to the campground.

As there are so many options available, it can be difficult to decide what size and material to purchase. However, the larger the bag, the more you will be able to fit inside. If you are thinking of purchasing a dry bag for kayaking, you will want one that is tough, waterproof, and will keep your gear dry.

The main reason everyone should use a dry bag is simple: it keeps your stuff dry. And we can think of a huge range of adventures where you’re likely to encounter lots of water. There is nothing quite so sad as discovering all of your belongings are soaking wet. Never mind the inconvenience of your phone being destroyed. If you’re camping, it’s raining from all directions and all of your clothes are soaked through, things will get very bad very quickly.

If you’re hiking, you might get away with using a rubble sack, with the top folded down. But if you’re doing anything based on water rather than land, you definitely want one. Even just for the peace of mind.
